CPR and First Aid Certified Karissa is eager to share her excitement with you around her passion for health and wellness.  She has spent the greater part of her life in some avenue of sport.  She was an active soccer player in her youth and throughout college.  After spending ten years as an Elementary school teacher she seized the opportunity to expand into health and wellness when her passion for running blossomed.  She has since completed a master’s degree in Exercise Science from Oakland University.  Working everywhere from your basic local gyms as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor to an Intern for the Strength and Conditioning Program at Oakland University.

She was drawn to CrossFit not only for the competitive nature of the sport but also for the variability and variety of elements it possess as well as the community that it draws.  Karissa is a firm believer that if you set a goal and put forth the effort you can accomplish most anything.  Not only does she bring her education in strength and conditioning experience working for a NCAA Division 1 University; she also brings experiences in running marathons, Iron-mans, competing in bodybuilding as well as CrossFit competitions.

James graduated from the National Personal Training Institute in 2006 and have been teaching and training individual and group fitness activities since.

His clients have ranged from people who have never applied a plan to getting in shape to contestants in fitness events varying from posing competitions to marathons.

Whatever type of client; his favorite part of the relationship is helping people push past what they thought were their physical limitations and achieve visible results.  James is involved in mixed martial arts with experience in Tae Kwon Do, American Karate, wrestling, boxing and submission grappling.

Chasing and accomplishing fitness goals is one of the most worthwhile past times around.  Getting into shape can be tough sometimes.  But the effort should always include some fun!

Ellen Plunkett

Ellen has always been active from a young age from competitive dance to some gymnastics training. In 2015 she found herself into a slump with working out and walked in a CrossFit gym and never looked back! After a few years of being a client and finding a true passion she decided to go the next step and get certified as a CrossFit coach. She has been coaching since 2021 and loves helping new & old clients succeed in a new lift or push them a little harder in a WOD. What people don’t realize is that this place isn’t just about coming and working out, it’s about the community and uplifting people to try their hardest and do their best!
